Touches should be counted clearly, Story outcomes should remain visible, recipients should be verified before payment, and Story money should remain separate from TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd’s commercial revenue.

Every valid Touch is recorded against the Story or campaign it supports.

Story, campaign and beneficiary money never becomes TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd operating revenue.

How a Contribution works

A member’s contribution follows a defined Stripe-managed process.

  1. The member contributes

    When you purchase Touches, you make a contribution to TouchYourWorld CIC.

    Contributions are generally committed when payment succeeds, subject to applicable consumer law and any required refunds, reversals or chargebacks.

  2. Stripe processes the funds

    Funds are collected, processed and settled by Stripe.

    TouchYourWorld does not provide members with a bank account or withdrawable cash balance.

  3. The member uses a Touch

    Using a Touch tells TouchYourWorld CIC which eligible Story the member wants the corresponding contribution to support.

  4. The checks are completed

    The Story and recipient remain subject to identity, eligibility, banking, KYC/KYB, sanctions and fraud screening, payment-provider approval and applicable law.

  5. Stripe makes the payout

    Payment may only be made to an approved bank account belonging to the verified recipient or legal entity.

Ending a Story, reaching a target or winning a campaign does not automatically trigger payment. Verification and payment-provider approval must be completed first.

What each Touch means

Live

Vote Touch

A free vote with no monetary value.

Vote Touches are recorded against the selected Vote Story and expire when that Story or campaign period ends.

Live

Contribution Touch

$1 for an eligible Contribution Story.

Contribution Touches cannot be withdrawn, redeemed for cash, sold or transferred between members.

Purchased Contribution Touches remain available until you choose to use them. They are not automatically allocated or redistributed after a fixed period.

Sponsored Touch

Funded by a sponsor through Stripe so a member can allocate it to an eligible Story.

Sponsored Touches remain valid for 30 days, subject to the sponsor agreement and Stripe’s arrangements.

Where does the money go?

User and sponsor contributions follow one consistent architecture through Stripe for eligible Story and campaign purposes.

Contribution Touches allocate $1 to eligible Contribution Stories. Stripe pays only after all required checks are complete.

Members choose an eligible Story within the permitted period. Subject to the sponsor agreement and Stripe’s arrangements, unused Sponsored Touches return to the sponsor-funded pool.

TouchYourWorld runs the campaign, records Vote Touches and determines the result. The result does not automatically trigger payment before verification.

TouchYourWorld does not directly pay recipients from company operating revenue. Payouts follow Stripe’s arrangements after recipient verification.

Fees, refunds and unsuccessful payouts

Processing fees

TouchYourWorld Technologies initially funds standard payment-processing fees from a separate operating reserve. A commercial sponsor may cover these costs in future.

Processing-fee funding remains separate from TouchYourWorld CIC social-purpose Story funds and is not deducted from Story allocations.

Refunds and unsuccessful payouts

Vote Touches are free and do not require refunds.

Refunds, cancellations, reversals, chargebacks, failed verification and unsuccessful payouts are handled according to the Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy, applicable law and Stripe’s procedures. Unused purchased Contribution Touches are not automatically allocated or redistributed after a fixed period.

What happens when a Story ends?

Every Story runs for a defined period and should have a visible conclusion.

Touching closes

The Story stops accepting the relevant Touches.

The result is recorded

The final Touch count and result remain visible.

Recipients are verified

Winning or eligible recipients complete the required checks.

Payout or completion begins

Eligible Contribution Stories move into the approved payout or completion process.

Outcomes remain visible

People should be able to return and see the result and, where possible, an update about what happened next.

You Touched it. You should be able to see what happened.

Eligible rollover Stories follow the rollover rules displayed on that Story.

Stories must belong here

TouchYourWorld may review, restrict, pause or remove Stories that appear fraudulent, misleading, unlawful, abusive or inconsistent with the platform’s purpose.

Creating a Story does not guarantee that it will remain published. We may request additional information before allowing a Story to continue or before payout.

See something wrong?

People can report Stories that appear suspicious, misleading, abusive or inappropriate.

Reports may result in a Story being reviewed, paused, investigated or removed.

Social-purpose activity and commercial platform activity have different roles.

TouchYourWorld CIC (Company No. 17446404) is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales. It is the social-purpose entity for Contribution money and sponsor-funded Story and campaign money.

TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd

Builds and operates the technology platform and carries out TouchYourWorld’s commercial activities.
