Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of touchyourworld.com and the TouchYourWorld platform, including related pages, accounts, Stories, campaigns and Touches.

By creating an account, signing in, publishing a Story, giving a Touch or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TouchYourWorld.

Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information is handled. See also the Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy. The Terms take precedence where appropriate.

TouchYourWorld operates through two related entities:

• TouchYourWorld CIC – Community Interest Company for social-purpose activity, including user Contribution money and sponsor-funded Story and campaign money; Company No. 17446404; registered in England and Wales; registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF.
• TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd – technology and commercial operator that builds and runs the platform; Company No. 17436889; Registered in England and Wales; registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF.

Data controller: TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd, Company No. 17436889, registered in England and Wales.

TouchYourWorld CIC (Company No. 17446404) is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales. TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd is the incorporated technology operator of the platform.

Vote Touches are free votes with no monetary value. Contribution Touches are purchased through Stripe Checkout and are credited only after Stripe confirms payment. A successful redirect is not proof of payment. Beneficiary payouts are made only after identity, eligibility, banking and KYC/KYB verification, and only to an approved bank account belonging to the verified recipient or legal entity. Reaching a Story target does not automatically guarantee a payout.

You must be at least 18 years old to:

• create a TouchYourWorld account;
• purchase or allocate Contribution Touches;
• create or manage a Story;
• receive funds or any other benefit through a Story; or
• enter into a sponsorship or other commercial arrangement with TouchYourWorld.

Public visitors may browse public content and cast eligible free Vote Touches without creating an account. No payment information is required. Vote Touches have zero monetary value and cannot be purchased, withdrawn or transferred. TouchYourWorld does not know the age of an anonymous visitor and does not claim that age verification has occurred for anonymous Votes.

An adult may create a Story for the benefit of a person under 18. The adult must have the necessary authority or permission from the minor’s parent or legal guardian and is responsible for protecting the minor’s privacy. Any payment or benefit connected to that Story must be handled through an eligible and verified adult, organisation or legal representative.

TouchYourWorld may request evidence of age, identity, authority or consent and may apply additional requirements where required by law or by a payment partner.

Account holders must confirm that they are at least 18 years old. TouchYourWorld and its payment partners may conduct additional age, identity and eligibility checks when required.

TouchYourWorld is a non-discriminatory environment.

Everyone is welcome to participate. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or exclusion based on a person’s identity, background, beliefs, abilities or personal circumstances.

TouchYourWorld is about bringing people together to Care, Share and Dream in Your Own World — with kindness, respect and fairness.

Conduct that breaches this section may result in content removal, account restriction or other action under these Terms, including the moderation rules in section 16.

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. One person should use one account unless TouchYourWorld has authorised otherwise.

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping login details and one-time passcodes (OTPs) confidential. If you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation, contact us promptly at hello@touchyourworld.com.

TouchYourWorld may restrict, suspend or close accounts that appear compromised, abusive, fraudulent or otherwise in breach of these Terms.

Key concepts used on the platform:

• Story - a Care, Share or Dream Story published on TouchYourWorld.
• Campaign - a Vote campaign opened by TouchYourWorld for a defined period.
• Vote Story - a Story linked to a TouchYourWorld campaign.
• Contribution Story - a standalone user Story that is not linked to a campaign.
• Vote Touch - a free vote with no monetary value. It does not cost money and does not spend Contribution or Sponsored Touch balances.
• Contribution Touch - $1 for an eligible Contribution Story. Contribution Touches are credited only after Stripe confirms payment.
• Sponsored Touch - a Touch funded by a sponsor so the recipient can choose an eligible Contribution Story.

What is a Touch?

A Touch is a non-transferable participation right used within TouchYourWorld. A Contribution Touch allows a member to direct the corresponding contribution to an eligible Story. Touches cannot be sold, traded, transferred between members or withdrawn as cash.

Touches are not cash, not a cryptocurrency, not an investment, do not earn interest, cannot be withdrawn or redeemed for cash, cannot be transferred, sold or gifted between members, cannot be used to purchase goods or services, and have no use outside TouchYourWorld.

Your Touch balance records your available participation rights. It is not a cash balance and cannot be withdrawn or transferred.

Unused Touches

Purchased Contribution Touches remain available in the member's account until the member chooses to use them, subject to these Terms.

They are not automatically allocated or redistributed after a fixed period.

Where applicable, a member may request cancellation or a refund of unused purchased Touches in accordance with our Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Sponsored Touches

Sponsored Contribution Touches remain valid for 30 days.

Subject to the sponsor agreement and Stripe's arrangements, unused Sponsored Contribution Touches return to the sponsor-funded pool for further allocation.

They never become TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd operating revenue.

Vote Touches expire when the relevant Story or campaign period ends.

Purchase, refund and unused-balance handling are described in the Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy.

If you create or publish a Story, you must:

• provide truthful, current and non-misleading information;
• have permission to act for any named beneficiary;
• obtain permission before publishing another person’s personal information, image, video, health circumstances or banking-related information;
• avoid unnecessary sensitive information;
• use any funds only for the stated eligible purpose;
• provide evidence or updates when reasonably requested; and
• comply with country, category and campaign rules shown on the platform.

Submitting or publishing a Story does not guarantee acceptance, continued publication, funding, campaign selection or payout.

Stories must also comply with the prohibited and restricted Story categories in section 15.

Vote Touches are free votes. No purchase is required to cast a Vote Touch. Buying Contribution Touches cannot improve a Vote campaign result.

Each campaign must publish its eligibility, duration, selection method, tie-breaking method, award details, sponsor disclosures and country restrictions. Those published rules form part of the campaign and sit alongside these Terms.

Manipulated, automated, duplicate, fraudulent or otherwise invalid Vote Touches may be removed. TouchYourWorld may pause results while investigating irregularities.

A campaign result does not automatically trigger payment before recipient identity, eligibility, banking and KYC/KYB verification. Awards remain subject to applicable law and Stripe’s arrangements.

Campaign decisions must be reasonable and remain subject to applicable law.

Contribution Touches are purchased through Stripe Checkout. The following rules apply.

Committed contribution. Contributions are final once allocated to a Story, but standard statutory refund requests and consumer protection rights apply prior to allocation.

Payment funds are collected, processed and settled by Stripe. TouchYourWorld does not store full card numbers.

TouchYourWorld does not operate a bank account or withdrawable cash balance for members.

Participation right, not a deposit. A Touch is a non-transferable participation right used within TouchYourWorld. A Contribution Touch allows a member to direct the corresponding contribution to an eligible Story. Touches cannot be sold, traded, transferred between members or withdrawn as cash.

Touches:

• not cash
• not a cryptocurrency
• not an investment
• do not earn interest
• cannot be withdrawn or redeemed for cash
• cannot be transferred, sold or gifted between members
• cannot be used to purchase goods or services
• have no use outside TouchYourWorld

Using a Touch. When a member uses a Touch on an eligible Story, the member instructs TouchYourWorld CIC to allocate the corresponding contribution to that Story.

That instruction remains subject to:

• recipient identity and eligibility verification
• identity verification, sanctions screening and fraud-prevention checks, including those carried out by our regulated payment service providers
• payment-provider approval
• refunds, reversals and chargebacks
• the Story remaining eligible under the platform rules
• applicable law and payment-provider requirements

Vote versus Contribution. Vote Stories are linked to a TouchYourWorld campaign and use free Vote Touches. Contribution Stories are standalone user Stories that are not linked to a campaign and use Contribution Touches.

Unused Touches

Purchased Contribution Touches remain available in the member's account until the member chooses to use them, subject to these Terms.

They are not automatically allocated or redistributed after a fixed period.

Where applicable, a member may request cancellation or a refund of unused purchased Touches in accordance with our Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Cancellation and Refunds

A TouchYourWorld-approved refund of a Contribution Touch purchase refunds the full original purchase, including unused purchased Touches still held as available capacity.

Touches already allocated to Stories from that purchase are financially reversed and become ineligible for payout. Historical Touch records remain.

If any allocated Touch from that purchase has already been paid to a beneficiary, the refund requires manual review and is not processed automatically.

Where a payment fails, is reversed, refunded or disputed, TouchYourWorld may make corresponding adjustments to the member's Touch balance or related transaction.

Refunds and payment disputes may be processed in cooperation with our payment service providers and remain subject to applicable payment-provider procedures.

Unauthorised Payments

If you believe a payment was made without your authorisation, please contact us promptly. TouchYourWorld will investigate the matter and cooperate with our payment service provider in accordance with applicable payment, refund and chargeback procedures.

Story ineligibility and failed verification. If a Story becomes ineligible, is removed, or recipient verification fails, TouchYourWorld may pause allocation or payout.

An alternative allocation or refund for contributions already directed to a Story may apply only where prior authorisation, the payment-services partner and applicable law permit it. This does not mean unused purchased Contribution Touches are automatically allocated or redistributed after a fixed period.

TouchYourWorld does not guarantee that a specific recipient will be paid before verification and partner approval are complete.

Identity, Fraud and Compliance Checks

TouchYourWorld takes reasonable measures to protect the platform against fraud, misuse and prohibited activity.

We may request information, restrict or suspend activity, withhold a Story from receiving contributions, or require additional verification where reasonably necessary.

Payments and payouts may also be subject to identity verification, sanctions screening, fraud prevention and other compliance checks carried out by our regulated payment service providers.

TouchYourWorld cooperates with those providers and may act on information or instructions received from them.

Provider powers. Stripe may delay, reverse, withhold or decline a payment or payout where required by its rules, fraud or sanctions screening, KYC/KYB checks, card-network rules or applicable law.

100% Principle.

For successfully settled contributions that are not refunded, reversed or charged back, TouchYourWorld does not deduct a platform percentage.

Each $1 Contribution Touch you use is allocated in full to the Story you choose.

A $10 purchase gives you 10 Touches, which you can allocate across eligible Stories or all to one.

Standard payment-processing fees are initially funded separately and are not deducted from those Story allocations.

TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd must not receive Story, campaign or beneficiary money as operating revenue.

TouchYourWorld is not a charity and does not promise that contributions are tax-deductible.

Amendments. TouchYourWorld may amend these contribution and Touch rules where required by Stripe or applicable law, with notice published on this page or related policy pages.

A Story ending, reaching its target or winning a campaign does not automatically trigger payment.

The flow is: User or Sponsor → Stripe → Recipient identity, eligibility, banking and KYC/KYB verification → Approved bank account belonging to the verified recipient or legal entity → Payout.

Identity, fraud and compliance checks for the platform and for payments or payouts are described in section 10.

Additional evidence, geographic or partner restrictions, sanctions screening and other legal checks may apply.

If verification fails, a beneficiary is unavailable, or a payout is delayed or unsuccessful, the outcome follows the Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy and related recipient terms.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant TouchYourWorld a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format and display that content only as needed to operate, moderate and promote the relevant Story and platform.

The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backups, legal retention, content already shared with permission, and completed Story records that must remain for transparency.

Published Stories, display names, media, Touch counts, rankings, comments and outcome updates may be publicly visible and indexed by search engines. Do not publish information you are not prepared to make public.

You must not:

• commit fraud, impersonation or publish misleading Stories;
• manipulate votes or use bots or other automated abuse;
• scrape or overload the service in a way that harms it;
• post unlawful content, harassment, hate or exploitation;
• infringe intellectual property or privacy rights;
• distribute malware;
• raise funds without authority; or
• attempt to bypass verification, security or platform controls.

TouchYourWorld is for Care, Share and Dream Stories that fit the purpose of the platform. You must not create, publish, promote or Touch Stories that involve, promote, facilitate or seek support for any of the following, whether directly or indirectly:

• Illegal goods or activity - anything unlawful under applicable law, including attempts to solicit illegal conduct.
• Weapons - firearms, ammunition, explosives, military-grade equipment or related accessories offered for sale, funding or distribution.
• Drugs and controlled substances - illegal drugs, controlled substances, or related manufacturing, trafficking or distribution.
• Gambling, lotteries and paid prize schemes - betting, casino-style activity, lotteries, raffles for paid entry, or paid prize schemes that are not an approved TouchYourWorld campaign award.
• Adult sexual services or explicit content - pornography, sexual services, escorting or other commercially sexual content or solicitation.
• Hate, extremism or violent organisations - content that promotes hatred, terrorism, violent extremism or organisations engaged in such activity.
• Political fundraising - funding political parties, candidates, campaigns, ballot measures or lobbying activity.
• Investments, lending or promised financial returns - investment schemes, peer-to-peer lending, crypto or securities solicitation, or Stories that promise interest, profit, equity or other financial returns to people who Touch them.
• Money transmission or cash-equivalent activity - using Stories or Touches to send, hold or convert money as a cash transfer, remittance, stored-value or similar cash-equivalent service outside an approved Story payout.
• Fraudulent medical claims - false, unproven or deceptive medical, treatment or cure claims, including solicitation based on fabricated health circumstances.
• Sanctions-restricted people, organisations or countries - activity involving people, organisations or territories subject to applicable sanctions, embargoes or similar restrictions.
• Stories created without authority from the beneficiary - publishing or fundraising for a named person, organisation or cause without the necessary authority, permission or legal right to do so.

TouchYourWorld may refuse, pause, restrict or remove any Story that falls within these categories, appears to do so, or creates unacceptable legal, reputational, sanctions or payment-partner risk. Restricted Stories may also be blocked by Stripe, card networks or applicable law, even where a Story has already received Touches.

This list is not exhaustive. TouchYourWorld may refuse or remove other Stories that are unlawful, deceptive, harmful or inconsistent with the purpose of the platform.

Users may report Stories that appear fraudulent, misleading, abusive or otherwise inappropriate. TouchYourWorld may review, pause, restrict or remove Stories and may restrict accounts where needed.

We may preserve records needed for investigations, disputes, fraud prevention or legal compliance.

To report a Story, email reportastory@touchyourworld.com with the subject line Report a Story.

The platform may rely on third-party services such as Stripe, YouTube or other social-media embeds, email delivery and linked websites. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply. TouchYourWorld is not responsible for third-party sites or services it does not control.

TouchYourWorld branding, software, design and platform content are protected. You may not copy or reuse them except as allowed by these Terms or with written permission. You keep ownership of your own submitted content, subject to the licence in section 12.

We aim to keep TouchYourWorld available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, funding success, Story outcomes, campaign selection or any particular result.

TouchYourWorld does not verify every public statement before publication. Nothing on the platform is financial, legal, medical or tax advice.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.

Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, TouchYourWorld is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or losses arising from Story outcomes, campaign decisions, third-party services, user content or temporary unavailability of the platform.

You may ask us to close your account by contacting hello@touchyourworld.com.

Closing an account does not erase completed transactions, legal records or fraud-prevention records, and does not necessarily remove public completed-Story records needed for transparency.

Unused purchased Contribution Touches are described in the Contribution, Cancellation and Refund Policy and the Contribution Touch balance policy.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be dated and communicated appropriately. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.

Contribution and Touch rules may also be amended where required by the payment-services partner or applicable law, with notice as described in section 10.

TouchYourWorld Technologies Ltd is incorporated in England and Wales (Company No. 17436889). These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you may have in your home country.
